Kemba Smith, who gained national attention after being sentenced under mandatory minimum guidelines, spoke at a town hall meeting at Apostolic Faith Church in Chicago.
The event was organized by Kristopher's CAUS (Citizens Against Unjust Sentences), which is led by fashion designer Barbara Bates.
Bates is fighting for justice concerning the case of her son, Kristopher Davis, who received a 19 year federal sentence two years ago.
