Clayton rips out that last note.....awesome. They were a great group even without the ultra low bass. Dwayne Burke had a beautiful tone and classy state presence. Thanks for posting.
The Singing Americans were based out of Maiden, NC and are no longer touring. The bass singer's dad owned the group. Don't know where the piano player is now, nor the tenor. The bass singer was music director at a church in NC last I heard. Baritone singer Ed Hill does solo work now. Clayton Inman has his own group now called Triumphant Quartet and the bass player, Mark Fain plays bass and is road manager for Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder.
I forget that Mark Fain played bass for them. I also remember him from his early days with Gold City. Yes I love Dwayne Burke's bass voice too.
