In all due respect to everybody involved, I am a cop myself and have done numerous funeral escorts BUT going 100+ down a freeway is S.T.U.P.I.D!!!! Its bad enough that its a funeral escort, but it would be worse if an accident happened do the the speed. Guess more people would be getting prepared for their funerals.

@billyshob I agree it's dangerous, but the police escort for the cadre probably wouldn't have been going that fast unless there was a valid reason for it. No doubt the honor guard van also probably had it's red/blues on anyhow as well.

I do funeral escorts in my department fairly often, and we never use freeways as a rule - too dangerous. However, we always have a lead car, tail car, and one to two cars blocking intersections. Those blocking cars may haul ass from intersection to intersection, but the procession itself never gets over 30 MPH.

@GP9railfan It's not that they haven't been in the military it's that this video shows unsafe driving practices that aren't required what so ever for the situation at hand. Funeral's are times of morning, sorrow, and sadness. Not times for driving like a goofball and endangering more lives. Funerals are not emergencies therefore they do not require emergency driving speeds.

This is no doubt on the way to a military funeral, and the police were paying their respect to a fallen Marine by assisting the USMC honor guard by helping them reach their destination on time. 5 people obviously have never been in the military if they put a thumbs down to this.
