Watch this video so youll know why you should eat only range raised, grass fed beef.
I drove through Colorado last week. About five miles before I took this video we encountered the worst smell of feces, manure and urine. It was incredibly strong and almost nauseating. Then we saw dozens and dozens of mass animal feeding operations (think of concentration camps for cows). The cows are forced to live in small areas (to save money) where they must stand in a combination of mud and feces. The farmers (if you can call them that) feed the cows a diet of corn to fatten them quickly; except cows arent meant to eat corn (gives them stomach ulcers). As you can guess, the cows must be given high doses of antibiotics because they literally live in crap and have stomach ulcers. Perhaps these high doses of antibiotics are causing the super resistant strains of bacteria. In addition, the cattle feces do not go through sewage treatment - it just leaches into the soil.

  • This makes me want to be vegatarian.

  • @devyduck Give a shot at standing and lying in your own sh1t and piss for a week and see how you feel then. Also do this by confining yourself to one room in your house and nothing else. Sounds like a fun time.

  • @devyduck Cows stick together, the only reason they would be "alone and scared" is if they chose to leave the herd.

  • feed lot cows are happier than range fed cows . fact

and the main reason is because they dont have to go far for food and they are never alone and scared. i raise range cows and wish i had a feed lot.

  • What exactly did it smell like?

  • Our human behavior towards animals is so tricky: Most people believe that animals deserve to be treated humanely, and shielded from cruelty. Most people also eat meat coming from an animal that was inhumanely born, raised, and slaughtered.

  • If more Americans would pay for the Grass Fed or Organic alternitives:: it would be more accessable! Too many of us as a socioty "gotta" have our Dollar menues and cheep per lb beef. I eat meat. I love steak. I only eat and purchase Grass Fed or Organic. My daughter who is 9 will never know what a Big Mac is nor will she eat boxed comercial cereals that use GMO corn. It starts with we as a colective whole voting with our dollar and taking responsibility for the future!

    love

  • i am curious what the people that complain about how food is grown eat during their lifetime. i own a ranch and raise cattle that usually end up in feedlots like this one. matter of fact i know i have sold cattle to this feedlot. feedlot managers try very hard to maintain clean facilities it has a direct affect on their bottom line. mud manure and flies ect. i am not defending all cattle feeders we have good and bad in this industry the same as any other.

  • I grew up at 18thst. and 10th Ave., in Greeley, 40's and 50's, when our relatives visited from Iowa they always asked, "what's that smell", downwind from Monforts. We'd just tell them "That's the smell of money".

  • this are branches of the same tree :. fuck the elite..

    and power to the people..

    more honesty please :D
