A New Confederacy and Texas to Seccede is talked about by Rachel Maddow on MSNBC

I also recorded this off the T.V. last night (April 16th, 2009). You may need to turn it up, I did increase the volume though.

MSNBC slanders people who protest the govement yet again. This is the biggest bias aside from the video before this that I have ever seen in any news anywhere in my entire life.

To be clear there is nothing in the US constitution that precludes any state from secession nor in US Law...nor could it be prevented except by force. "That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government" so lets get on with secession already!

Yep, it states what they can't do.

Doesn't state what they can do.

However:

'The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.'

The right to secede is not prohibited by the Constitution, nor is it delegated to the United States. Thus it is a right reserved to the states, or to the people.

Thus the supreme court ruling goes directly against the Constitution.

The reading you gave me on the Constitution does not mention secession.

We can if the contract (Constitution) has been made void by it being broken.

It was made void when habeas corpus was suspended in the War for Southern Independence.

It was made void in 1934 when a law was passed restricting the American citizen's right to purchase and bear arms (Yes, a machine-gun is an arm)

It was made void when the states right to secede was made "illegal".

It was made void when the 16th president took on "wartime" powers.

The states have no obligation to this nation anymore.

So go ahead and secede already! but when you do just remember you will lose every bit of federal funding and every piece of military equipment in texas will be removed by the united states. you will have no economy, no way to travel outside the borders of texas and no real identity. so go ahead and go, you wont last long on your own, of course there are plenty of common sense type people in texas who would never let that happen. grow up people and lets try some civility in our nation.
