Sonic 3 - The mysterious seat

This here is a really strange thing in Sonic 3.
I allready encountered this strange bug years ago when i played Sonic 3 when i was like 8 years old or so.
I'm still a bit surprised, that no one knows about this bug.
I mean it's special but it's not hard to activate and there are no cheats or debugmode or something like that.
So i thought to myself that it is time to show this bug here on YouTube so everyone could see it.

So to activate this bug you have to use Sonic and Tails in Sonic 3.
I don't know if it works that good with Tails alone but you have to use Sonic 3.
It doesn't work with Sonic 3 locked on to Sonic & Knuckles in any way.

You have to get to the first Boss in Launch Base Act Zone 2 with Tails flying Sonic up to the plattform where Robotnik sits.
For any other explanations watch the video.

It's no hack, no editing and no debug. If you want, you can do this on your own and it will most likley work every time.

The only question i have is how it comes to this weird thing.
If there is anyone out there, that has any ideas how this happens, than send your coment to the video and explain it.

NOTE: As you can see i'm loosing my rings quite often. Well this is just so you can see that the seat comes out with the rings.

Das hier ist etwas echt merkwürdiges in Sonic 3.
Diesen mysteriösen Bug habe ich schon schon vor Jahren das erste mal gesehen, als ich mit 8 Jahren oder so Sonic 3 gespielt habe.

Ich bin immer noch etwas überrascht, das keiner diesen Bug kennt.
Ich meine es ist etwas besonderes aber es ist nicht schwer ihn zu aktivieren und man braucht keine Cheats oder den Debug dafür.
Also dachte ich mir das es an der Zeit ist den Bug hier auf YouTube zu zeigen, sodass ihn jeder sehen kann.

Um den Bug zu aktiveren müsst ihr Sonic und Tails in Sonic 3 benutzen.
Ich weiß nicht ob es auch mit Tails so gut funktioniert aber ihr müsst auf jeden Fall Sonic 3 nehmen.
Es funktioniert auf keinen Fall, wenn Sonic 3 mit Sonic & Knuckles kombiniert ist!

Ihr müsst auf die Plattform vom Boss im 2. Akt der Launch Base Zone hinauf, indem ihr Tails nehmt und Sonic da hinauffliegt.
Für weitere Anweisung wie es genau geht schaut das video.

Es ist kein Hack, keine Manipulation oder Debug.
Wenn ihr wollt, könnt ihr es selber ausprobieren.
Es wird höchstwarscheinlich jedes Mal funktionieren.

Die einziche Frage die ich habe ist, wie es zu dieser merkwürdigen Sache kommt.
Wenn es jemanden gibt, der eine Ahnung hat, woher das kommt dann postet bitte euren Kommentar zu dem Video und erklärt es.

HINWES: Wie ihr sehen könnt verliere ich meine Ringe recht häufig.
Das tue ih nur damit ihr sehen könnt, das der Sitz mit den Ringen herauskommt.

That was Sonic X. In the old days, when Sonic 3 was made, they called him Robotnik. They call him "Eggman" in Sonic X and the games now because they have to match the lip flaps (three syllables vs two). But he's still Robotnik, even in Japan, because of the revelation of his grandfather and cousin, both with that surname.

Nur ne Vermutung, aber ich glaube nachdem der Screen beim Vorboss fest ist und Robotnik hereinspringt, wird an ihm nochmal extra der Sitzsprite angeheftet. Da der Robotnik Sprite nicht spawnt, das Spiel den Befehl, den Sitz an den nächsten spawnenden Sprite dranzuheften aber immernoch drin hat, wird er random an den Knuckles und auch an den Ringsprite geheftet. Wie gesagt, nur ne Theorie. :D

I've done something similar, but it was Robotnik's head instead of the seat (I think it was with Tails that his head would pop out instead of the seat)

Now that I think about it I've seen this glitch before. The last boss part had me wondering why sonic keeps dropping a card when he is hit. now this explains everything
