@detahdomo I think Fred just said that to fill time while he was thinking of a real question. He was a great ad-libber.
-
@graperonto I would think that "a female life companion" is a euphemism for lesbian. No doubt she was a great contestant.
-
@karlakor I noticed that, too.
-
@Fenhalls I was also surprised to read in the Wikipedia article that her "life companion" was a woman. But unclear as to whether she may have been a lesbian. But whatever the case, she was a fabulous lady indeed.

John Daily erred when Fred Allan asked, at 3:25, "You're not involved in a medical capacity, are you?" He gave Fred a no and then proceeded on to Arlene Francis, but he should have given him a yes answer. In other words, "Yes, she is not involved in a medical capacity." John Daly is usually more discerning as to how the questions are asked.

What became of chlorophyll?

Her dress and 'enough mistakes' joke reminds me of a 1910s suffragette. Considering her generation, she very easily may have been.
-
cantankerous old shoe ain't she?
-
Gotta love her...would not mind being mayor of my city.

Did someone say "North Carolina" at about 0.30 when John said "Charlotte"? I'm pretty sure someone did.
Is it Miss or Mrs? OH, it's miss. I've made enough mistakes!
I wish all mayor's would admit to that! :-)

Thanx for posting. This is classic among the WML high points. The production staff must have dreamed of contestants like this. The contestant is sarcastic / funny; she does an interesting occupation with a gimmick. One two three hit. Landmark -- I can't remember ANY contestant who arrived late to his cue: John Daly looks mightily uncomfortable contemplating what he will do in dead space on live TV. Few non-celebrity contestants ever cracked as wise as this gal did.
