The "flash" is because the CRTs are updating at 60fps (ish) and the camera can see the refreshing of the screen, the human eye cannot.

Wow, the RMUs, PFD, MFD, flight guidance controller, display and radar control panels are all the same as the Embraer I fly. Wouldn't have expected a bombardier built aircraft to have that.

That's what I thought. That looks like the most uncomfortable thing to have to sit in for hours on end.

@MSLTUL Oh believe me it is not... the captain likes flying near to the controls but in my case im 1.85 m (6' 1") and it is really comfortable, we have flown more than 4 hours non-stop and it is nice... the pedals are also adjustable. Thanks for the comment!
