@hitman1992 thats exactly why i don't think hes going to fight akainu. It would be too obvious if he does. I personally think that the storyline can be more dramtic this way. but since we aren't Oda, lets not be too confident with our opinions.

He will fight both Akainu and Coby.
Akainu is currently one of the main major villains in the One Piece story so far. He murdered ace, completely anhilated the population of Ohara, gave Luffy his scar and is currently fleet admiral of the marines. So it would be a great choice for Luffy not to fight him? I don't get what you're saying... o_O
Blackbeard is also another main major villains since he pretty much started the war and is one of the current Yonkou.

@hitman1992 If i were Oda, i would make luffy fight against Coby instead of Akainu. I think that would make more interesting development in story, and thats how one piece always has been.

To all the comments thinking Akainu will be killled by Luffy you're wrong.
Luffy would never kill a person. Instead his philosophy rather than killing is to defeat someone and make them see their own dreams being crushed in front of them and make them realize their sense of justice is wrong, just as bad as death.
Don't get me wrong, Luffy will defeat Akainu eventually and we will see that it will be a satisfying outcome to everybody. But Akainu will not die, instead have his justice crushed.

@TeamKaDS That worked better with the manga. They shouldn't have attempted to do that kind of thing in the anime.

@TeamKaDS No you fool that's the intense EMOTION Luffy is expressing. That's Oda's style and it's great and adds impact.
