I wonder what the situation with gay people is like in America. I live in a tiny country Slovakia in Europe and it's pretty hard here. Religion plays a big role, bigots, you know. Gay people can neither marry, nor adopt children here. But I have to say, for example today I was totally surprised by people. I was sitting out with my boyfriend, we were hugging and kissing and nobody cared. I was pleasantly surprised,nobody cared. It was weird :D great feeling.

@Consolatrix4 countries such as slovakia are moving very quickly i think, thanks to western europe pressuring your government to accept homosexuality. so im sure your country will be more accepting very soon. :)

"Studies show that no society that has totally embraced homosexuality has lasted more than a few decades" - Absolutely, because we all know that the Ancient Greeks came and died out within a couple of years. Her sound education policy might need a rewrite, firstly so we teach our children that the word 'because' has a b and e at the start, and somebody lecturing on education should most certainly promote that fact, and the statements "I taught school", "teaching indoctrination" don't make sense.

While I agree it will be very hard for gays at first, I think the real problem is that they are not continously encouraged to be who they really are. If society is taught at a younger age that IT IS OK to be who you are, people would hopefully not be so judgemental in the future

People are unbelievable, what happened to not judging people and accepting and loving people for who they are and seeing the good in them. I have never even heard of anything negative that Ellen has done. She seems like one of the kindest, most loving, caring, accepting, generous and just, warm people in the world, I don't see how anyone can not love her. Personally, it'd be an honor to meet her, and I hope to get the chance to one day
