@lilmisssunsett I believe that it depends on what state you live in. In CA (probably all the states), you have to file with your state (to prove that you are truly schooling your child). A very good, informative resource is HSLDA (Homeschool Legal Defense Association). They keep up-to-date on all the laws in each state regarding homeschooling and can definitely help you figure it out. Their website is hslda dot org. I hope this helps!
