U.S. Policy in Lebanon

Please join us for a panel discussion to explore the possibilities for realigning U.S. policy toward Lebanon and Hezbollah and to discuss Lebanon's importance in creating a climate for peace in the Middle East.

Discussion will center on Nicholas Noe's forthcoming Century Foundation report entitled "Re-Imaging the Lebanon Track: Toward a New US Policy," which argues that, contrary to conventional wisdom, a viable road map for domestic peace-building exists within Lebanon itself, focusing on removing the grievances Hezbollah uses to justify its retention of an armed militia - and that such an option should be considered by the incoming Obama administration as part of its broader regional strategy.
