  • ozzy, i would knock off any high spots with a scraper and just use pva .use a few coats of glue nice and tacky.mix a thick coat of multi and spread on thick, flatten out when picking up, then lay down another thick coat of multi finish.let it pick up then flatten in mate,this should be enough.as long as its very shallow artex.good luck.

  • Cheers mate

  • it seems like a lot of so called plasterers,like to coment yet if they knew what i was actually doing,they would maybe get some credability for themselves...at this point iam flatening in!not spreading or finishing.

  • Soon as the word Plastering comes around all the idiots appear, if that wide taping knife makes that guys job easier then who cares, that is a decent sized ceiling by any standards.

  • I've been reading these comments and feel pretty outraged. this fellow holds his own against any spread. Lots of spreads flatten in with a spatula, absolutely loads, nothing wrong here, he is huffing and puffing because he is stretching. Who knows what temperature it was that day, good spread, top fella, full respect from EVERY tradesman;

  • That's a big lid fella, I reckon you could have done with being a foot taller. Me reckons your back was hurting the following morning. Respect, you aint no cowboy, that much is obvious.

  • back in the day, this is how it was done: on stilts.

  • first time I see someone using stilts. We put up aluminium scaffolds for those jobs. I guess it could save time and hassle, but isn't it dangerous and slippery? And annoying if you drop something and have to pick it up?

  • I've been in the game 10 years now and only just hit on the idea of using a taping knife for finishing ceilings. It speeds things right up, I've never looked back. It's easier on the shoulders too!

  • Good stilts

    trustride stilts

  • Nice Job !!! good stilts

  • What's the nightmare about with this ceiling. He's obviously has someone helping as theres a platform made up in the corner. it's being skimmed on plasterboard as there's a bag of board finish on the floor. The ceiling isn't that big at all. Maybe it's the spatula he's using that's causing the nightmare LOL

  • @rage40rder yeeeehaaaa have u mixed my bucket yet ha ha ha..........
