FOX's Red Eye alerted me to this problem. Some privileged, self-righteous Princeton kids are upset that the parent company of an otherwise harmless hummus manufacturer supports the Israeli Defense Force. Strauss Group, which jointly owns Sabra Dipping Co. LLC, writes the following about their support for the Israeli Defense Force:

"Israel Defense Forces

As part of its donations program, the Sales Division of Strauss Israel has made a contribution to the men and women who serve in the Golani brigade. The funds are designated for welfare, cultural and educational activities, such as pocket money for underprivileged soldiers, sports and recreational equipment, care packages, and books and games for the soldiers' club. Yotvata, our dairy in the south, contributes likewise to the southern Shualei Shimshon unit."

For this intolerable offense, Philly BDS organized a "flash-dance" in protest of Sabra and Tribe hummus.

THIS is what the hippies are protesting against--hummus? Really? REALLY??? You know what I had to do, Nation. Enjoy my new BUYcott!

Note: The series has been changed to "It's Always Sunny in San Diego," because whatever qualms I had about revealing my home city at the outset are now gone. Plus it just sounds better.

  • What is humus anyway? Is it like a cheese? I got hungry watching your video, man. Your music tracks are hilarious!

  • @pianodavy Hummus is made from chickpeas (aka garbanzo beans) and is creamy but neutral. It isn't flat like poi nor a chameleon like tofu, but plays well with pepper, garlic, and other additives. Throw a party and serve some up; people will probably like it, and it's a welcome change from the usual salsa/guacamole/sour cream offerings.

Also, thanks for noticing the music. I always want to make my videos amusing.

  • @762delivered Seriously...

  • @BianchiMedia Thanks. It's good stuff.

  • @PublishingCult And still residing here, might I add. :)

  • @PublishingCult Born and raised, my friend.

  • @JBSauce, yes, and it's just one small tumor of the cancer of corporate-run government. :) Are you a San Diego resident or were you visiting?

  • @PublishingCult San Diego has some really nice things going for it, but like any city, the people running it are idiots and crooks. There's still the pension scandal that earned San Diego the reputation as "Enron by the sea."

  • "largest joke by the water" . . . ? LOL
