This is a static test of my largest PVC rocket motor yet. The R-candy propellant was made using the skillet method.
Propellant:
58.5% KNO3
31.5% SU
10% corn syrup
Six propellant grains were cast. Their dimensions (in inches) were:
OD: 1.208
ID: 0.5
Length: 1.5
Nozzle throat diam: 0.375
Predicted thrust: 71.4 lbs
Measured thrust: ~73 - 75 lbs (not counting early spike)
Also, search "james yawn" and click the link about rocketry. If you go down his page a little bit to number 3, there's a link that says "No Karo? No Problem!". Click on that link. You might also be able to use normal table syrup or honey instead.

Just do a google search for "Karo Syrup" and that's what it looks like.
Corn syrup is usually just a clear semi-sweet liquid made from corn, and it's really sticky. You can find it in the grocery store, usually in the baking section. It makes the propellant thinner and not so brittle. The propellant can be made without it though.
