Georgian unmanned airplane was shot down on 22nd April 2008 by the Russian Mig 29 Fighter. Russia claims the plane was above their territory.

I bet the pilot was happy, I'm sure it's not an everyday thing in these budget starved times to get airborne and firing live weapons against targets. But why not first attempt a gun kill ? That would have been more sporting.
