We were on a mission to find this small reservation in the Talamanca Mountain area. We had read a bit about this area on the internet and really wanted to find out more. It was pretty spiffy. This group of people has live the same way for thousands of years. Just in the last few year they've started embracing a bit of tourism. Don't know if that's good or not. But change is unstoppable.

  • Don't know what OneLivingT is all about...bit muddled on the message...maybe english is a second language for him or her...or maybe he or she's been licking those funny little toads with the red eyes. Love this video, the music is smashing, and what a wonderful exhibition of goodwill.

  • I'm going to go back and camp for a bit. See if I can make myself useful. We're like a 9 hours drive away.

  • That was the coolest place i've ever been! Wonderful people and wonderful culture.

  • PURA VIDA!!!

  • lol..did i tell u i liked the video?

    cool

  • "Tourism in itself"? You've misquoted.

No,that's not what the video said, "Tourism, Is this a good thing?" And This is obviously relating to the specific the specific instance. It's not a question of tourism as a whole; just this specific instance and area. I change the video to say: "Will the actions of future visiting foreigners negatively affect the Bri Bri indigenous peoples."

That way no one is confused and doesn't think this is an assault on "tourism in itself" haha

  • ..yet you asked the question "does tourism in itself have a negative impact?"..not me...cheers..

  • Superficial? This whole conversation is retarded. You've repeatedly stated the obvious and treated it like it was some profound insight. Yes....thank you I know the actions and behaviors are what really matters.

  • thats my point.."to have fun" or whatever they, the visitors, perceive as "fun"..well thats part of "actions" and "behaviors"..i know you didnt get my comment but maybe now you will..stop trying to be so superficial..very relaxed

  • Masses of people heading into areas foreign to them to have fun sometimes causes problems. That's it. Stop trying to dive so deep. And I have no idea why you're even concerned at this level. Relax.
