I wonder why my father who was a drafted solider in the Vietnam war and also served 2 full tours during that war for the U.S. army had such a silent life after the war! It really sucked having a father who wouldn't speak most my-life because of war! I don't believe he spoke over 2,000 words in my life time? But the thing he would say is Son never let the Government own you via the military. Thank god for having a smart father.. Lie's and Words are the most dangerous weapon mankind has!

I served TAD on the USS Turner Joy sometime after the Tonkin Gulf Incident. NO ONE that I met believed they were attacked that day. Even Robert McNamara has said that the attack never happened. SO was LBJ so passionate about defending the highly corrupt, very unpopular minority government of S. Vietnam? Vietnam was a Buddhist country and Diem was a Catholic. JFK tried to support him but wanted US troops OUT of Vietnam and the CIA murdered BOTH of them so they could go to war for profit.

I am pretty sure that although it's been officially declassified that most folks especially uneducated folks and Vietnam vets are stickin' to the Gulf of Tonkin Incident as fact.
It's funny how hard it is to convince people that the Vietnam Conflict was solely over opium route control and production.
Even the conspiracy theorists have a hard time of that one.
I have two relatives that were MacVsog. I know the truth.
