Edita Gruberova (soprano) and Vesselina Kasarova (mezzo-soprano) sing Johannes Brahms' Die Meere (the Seas) at their joint concert in Feldkirch in 1999. Friedrich Haider accompanies on the piano.

If this stirs you, Gruberova and Kasarova recorded the song on their Nightingale Label CD: Gruberova - Kasarova: Lied-Duett (Wir Schwestern zwei).

  • ...love this !!!

  • way too slow.theres no flow of the water..

  • superb!!!!!!!

  • @bobafooz too true. haha. haha plus I told them they sounded like a bunch of seagulls.

  • @80xPunkOKatx13 Oh, it's because sopranos always want to dominate. We're selfish bitches. xD

  • @bobafooz haha thanks. it's funny, when we did this song in chorus I made a similar suggestion & everyone just stared at me like I was crazy. glad some people agree.

  • @80xPunkOKatx13 That was beautiful...I agree entirely.

  • the mezzo sounds as a countertenor

  • I think there's a bit much soprano, it's a little too high. this song should be darker & lower sounding. the low should overpower the high because the low is the ocean & the high is the world around it & the storm, not the main part of the song.

  • traumhaft!
