speed test of my Hughes net internet connection. Clear skies, off peak time. No other downloads running or uploads running. If you are looking at getting rethink this company is very shady, many many shady practices. Modems constantly failing. I am paying over 70 US dollars a month for this slow of service it is all I can get in my area. DO NOT BUY hughes net.

Tips for people wanting DSL in their area: Go around to houses in your neighborhood (about a 5 mile radius at least) and have them sign a petition promising interest to buy DSL. Offer to let the company you want DSL from house their equipment, such as servers and such on your property, for free. Present them with the petition from people in your neighborhood, and pitch to them why it would benefit them to have DSL service in your area. Suffered with Hughes for 5 years before doing this. GL!

bro, your fking lucky! i pay for same speed but, i get less then 1mbps. my speedtest was .21mbps for downloads. my ping was over 1000.

I didnt say it was bad, I was just posting the speed test up to show how horrible the "ping" is. and just so people can see what they are getting into before they purchase hughes net service. Mostly posted it up because of how horrible their service was with replacing faulty equipment, (ie. it took them 3 weeks to send a tech out and replace the modem that was smoking when plugged in.)
