If I read one more comment saying "germans buy the companies but not how they produce/design/set up their cars..." I´ll tell top gear about you guys!
You know, why (as top gear says) the new Lambos are getting boring but built waaay better and less idiotic?
you know why (as TG says) RollsRoyce now makes even better cars with better parts but less "noble brit style"?
you know why bugatti was able to pull off the masterpiece they called VEYRON?
cause germans change more then the owner badge! God!

Totally agree 100%. I was mearly listing British owned marques, ie privately owned British based car companies. I also believe that Jag, LandRover, Bentley etc are British, they are just owned by other companies.
In the case of affordable British budget based cars is set to change in the next few years, there are some ecxiting new British car companies that are in the pipeline like Riversimple and Gordon Murray Design that are creating some very cool cars at the moment.

my god top gear has come a long way from this.

@05Rudey its just German money, but British craftmanship and quality, and u forgot Jag, lol, but but the British just make good cars now, no budget based cars, the British make cars how they are meant to be made, without compromise

Yes, you are finally getting it.. Dodge is owned by an Italian company and Lamborghini is owned by a German company. Very good.
I gave you valid examples even though they weren't based on British brands.
When Ford owned Land Rover, Aston Martin, Jaguar, and others, Ford used their own resources including engineering and parts. Those brands were no longer British companies. They were owned and operated by an American company. Now they are owned by a Indian company. lol

@DizzyMan24 in 2007m there was no such thing as even 360p, or fullscreen.

@Dogurasu you gave me invald examples.
So Lamborghini is German a company in your book? Its Italian, it will always be Italian, unless the whole factory upsticks and moves to Germany. Even then, Lambo would still be an Italian marque.
When Ford owned those comapnies, all the cars where still designed and engineered in the UK, not the US, Ford can buy the name but not the marque or the history or the country the company was founded on.
Better luck next time, you can't win them all.
