Yes, via HDMI cable, but tbh ifg you only want it for TV buy a TV. :)

2nd...what are your thoughts on it after 2 months use? Any problems? Would you choose it if you had to buy a new monitor today?

Im still very happy with the monitor. Really love the multiview software. Makes using a large widescreen a lot easier.
At this moment ive got a video playing on the left and typing this on the right.
I love the styling, but tbh mate ive a Samsung 46" TV with same style so they go perfectly.

I heard the 2494HM has a humming noise. How noticeable/irritating is it?

The monitor doesnt hum at all. My heart beat is louder.
This statement (humming noise)is not true for my monitor.
