someone might tell him that LGchem laptop 2.2Ah cells go for around 300$/kWh today. possibly less in bulk. keep in mind that Eberhard said that they paid around 20k$ for their tesla packs and that's 56kWh, a couple of years ago by now. the 5-600$ price is one GM is floating and for a more expensive chemistry and perhaps including packaging.
