Where did u learn to dance like that cause where i live there is nobody who cares about bboying and one more.Whats the difference between bboying and hip-hop?Thnx for helpin me!!
Sallon08 1 year ago
@Sallon08 I just danced anyway, but b-boying is the style of dance that bests suits me, i learnt from being taught and watching videos, mostly self taught.
I've been to a few breakin workshops - B-boy Born, B-boy Y-not, B-boy Blanka roc and Poe One and I've picked up some stuff from them too (not in this vid though)
B-boying is the dance of Hip-Hop culture which has 4 elements - Graffiti, MCing, DJing, B-boying

@Flashlegz
Hey, bro. Kudos to anyone who takes the time to put up a tutorial for others to benefit from, f'sho. But I want to correct you on something. I don't agree with this so-called "four elements of hip-hop", but if I did, b-boying would NOT be one of them. Instead, it would be "breaking". What's the difference? By specifying it as "b-boying", you're excluding all the awesome bgirls out there, and there are some great ones for sure! Don't exclude them - call it "breaking" to include all!

@GangreneVagina Although B-boying does sound gender specific, it is the name of the dance form, most B-girls I know have no issue with it. The dance has always been about the style and skill, not race or gender.
Breaking does not carry the cultural weight of the dance for those that live that lifestyle. Personally i would not say that i am a b-boy, I really enjoy doing it but it's not like I practice everyday, I enjoy dancing when that beat hits me.

If you want to call it breaking to include women, I haven't been aware of them being excluded.
I have heard of b-girl only events, but not of B-boy only events, jams are for everyone, true hip hop does not exclude those that want to embrace it.
That's how I feel about it.

@Flashlegz
I hear ya. I guess it's terminology and now that you mention it, I guess you're right. I suppose I'm alone in my thinking. Word.
