A wonderfully dynamic and hugely flexible fuzz. Massive bottom end, tons of sounds.

This vs the Cbread Merkin, both sound good to me (at least via youtube)? Any thoughts? This would be my first fuzz, so I'm looking for something versatile but don't need a PhD to get decent sound out of it?.

VERY different beasts. The Merkin is a spitty, nasty, cutting fuzz. The Pharoah is more of a versatile fuzz face variant--lots of dynamics, big round bass, and smoother than the Merkin. For a first fuzz probably the Pharoah, EQD Hoof, CB Manx or Basic Audio Scarab. All versatile but also with lots of character.

I think the reason people enjoy you talking in your vids compared to other demo vids is because you always provide good, articulate information concerning the pedal, not just mindless rambling about what have you. Love the demos man! I'm a fan.

Thanks for the clarification! With more than 3 knobs I sometimes get confused!
