Jeremy is all that and more - OFF the ice.

Unfortunately for him, the H.H.O.F. puts very little stock in off-ice contributions.

If they weighed off-ice contributions more significantly, then there wouldn't be room in the current Hall for all of the eligible players.

(Questioning his H.H.O.F. worthiness was the point of my original post, which was a response to one of the Einsteins down below.)

@shotsave Throw all the numbers out the window and try to find another player over the last 20 years who brought more attention to the league with his colorful personality, his outgoing nature and his honest, often controversial opinions than Roenick. Brett Hull is the only player who even comes close. And he finishes a distance second

i think he should be in the hall of fame. he just lacked that stanley cup. I dont care what anybody says about him, he is one of my favorite hockey players of all time.

Look at his resume! He's lacking the one ingredient that would boost his HOF chances - a STANLEY CUP RING! Plus, he never won a major trophy. Playing in nine all-star games just doesn't quite put him up there with Howe, Hull, Orr & Gretzky. If players were voted in based on their charm, charisma and jocularity, then he would be guaranteed a seat in The Hall. But those aren't criteria. I loved talking to him & watching him play, but the reality is that he doesn't have the resume to push him in.

Born & raised my first 18 years in the country's third largest market (that would be CHICAGO). Came back in '97. Employed as broadcast photojournalist for over 24 years. Covered many sporting events, including lots of hockey in Chicago Stadium, United Center, and the old St. Louis Arena - shooting interviews, chatting with players & coaches pre-game, in the locker room for post-game. Chatted with Jeremy dozens of times in his career. What's YOUR expertise in? Sweeping floors?
