    The only thing I dont get: people work with high level audio stuff and post a 360p video on yt, I know it is always compressed, but 480p would make a better impression and would be much clearer

    In addition to RAM running out there is the issue of processing power running out with non sample based type plugins. Lots of soft synths and processing etc. Obviously you can freeze those tracks but it's a pain, and guys working under commercial pressure don't want to be messing about.

    Universal Audio created the Apollo I/O but it only runs their plugs not VSTs etc.

    What this guy is doing is to my mind the perfect way to track with effects in low latency without requiring Pro Tools HD or UA.

    Why don't you just update the software on the Mac pro so you can use logic in 64 bit, and you can utilize as much ram that is on your computer in the daw?
