All your concepts of galaxy, nobler purpose etc requires a subject/object relationship. The subject is the ego which is the sum total of all the knowledge that has been handed over to you as a baby. Without that knowledge there is no way to know or experience anything-grand or purposeless. The only point here is that th e subject/object relationship is illusionary (created by knowledge) and once that is discarded, all that remains is one single aliveness-LIFE itself - free of conceptualization.

Even to say that someone's view is fatalistic requires an individual (otherwise to whom is it fatalistic). When you are looking at a body which has transcended this individuality it is utterly foolish. You labeling of Indian mystics as fatalistic is sheer ignorance. They thought about all these and eventually transcended the thoughts long before the westerners started wearing proper clothes.

the insights of j and ug are of different families. with j there is insight of connecting to the ground of total experience/energy. i understand ug and his character, but he is unaware of how to direct each of us to the living energy we might connect to. to agree with his criticisms of humanity qualifies no future for anyone.

That day, when U.G. came back home from the restaurant he looked in the mirror to find that there was something odd about his eyes--they were 'fixed'. He kept looking in the mirror for a long time and observed that his eyelids were not blinking. For almost forty-five minutes he stared into the mirror--still no blinking of the eyes! 'Instinctive blinking was over for me, and it still is.'

blinking does not stop. but you blink less, you become more focused. you can try it, focus on your self and when you feel empty you will see your eyes fixated. i can tell from my personal experience.

Your first paragraph is all ego, and is not justifiable for a humble, self-confident person. #The fool who knows his foolishness is wise at least thus far. But the fool who thinks himself wise, he is truly called a fool indeed.#
Your second paragraph is nice. Life is indeed as simple or as complex as we would have it be. What did you do today?
