LMAO! Great video with accurate info, but man that was funny watching you smack the h*ll out of that contactor with the screwdriver at 3:00 mins into it.

just started looking at these videos techs do this is one of the better one great learning thank you Mike

Thanks! I just emailed you before I found this video. I have a blown primary on my control transformer.
-
love how you banged the contactor to get it to shut up. XD

@hvactecster79 Wanted to add if you determine it is in red power circuit from transformer OR green blower circuit, you can then disconnect the green and connect or tie in the yellow with red and turn on a/c.
No short, it is in green wire circuit or if you have the short, you already know yellow is ok, so it is in red power wire circuit from transformer.
This may sound tough, but once it is practiced, it is precise and quick to know what circuit the short is in. Not hard to find then .
Question,If i have 3x 10,000 btu turn type switch, A/C window unit.Is there anyway I can add heat strips to them? I'm having trouble finding A/C unit with heat.

@coldpak82 You would have to reference the manual or if you don't have a manual then hunt one down on the internet and see if is an option. Most window units either come with heat or they don't but some might have that option, it isn't something I have researched though so I'm not much help in that aspect :) M@

Hey whats up Mike , I've got the lil popper (mine has male spades not alligator clips), I dig yours with the light and its NICE having a VISUAL !!!
Man your a good man , for taking the time to make the instructional board , and the time to walk everybody thru it !!!
I actually went to the AUTO PARTS store and purchased the in-line fuse kits ($1.25), and put them on EVERY system I work on that does not have fusible link at board !!!
5tank clamp !!! LOL
