Many people have asked my thoughts on the P90X training program. More specifically, wanting clarification on "muscle confusion". This is a video blog entry with my opinion on P90X.

  • Pretty good video. Very informative. However, it depends on your body also. I`ve seen people get ripped off of Cross Fit, and others with free weights. I`m no expert but I`m just calling what I see.

  • @vme1111 continued......When you have somebody busting their ass right next to you,you cant help but to work a little harder! When you look up at that board and see scores a little higher than yours, you want to be on top!

  • Hey nice and informative vid. I was wondering if supplements actually have a positive effect?

  • @Zearoph Depends on the supplements? I personaly like to have a protein supplement post workout and a BCAA(branch chain amino acid) suplement prior to my workout. You really have to be cautious when using a supplement because often times you might not get what you think you are taking. And often times extra "crap" is added that you dont want or need. If you have specific supplement questions feel free to email me.

  • @Farve4ever589 We are talking semantics here....P90X uses the term "muscles confusion", and what they are talking about is the bodies ability to accommodate to the stresses placed on it. By changing exercises frequently, therefore "confusing the muscles", the body will not accommodate to the stresses placed on it as fast, therefore preventing plateau, resulting in better results. This is proven fact, not myth.

  • MUSCLE CONFUSION CAN SUCK MY BALLS!

  • @KingNightmareHR It will if you keep doing the same volume.

  • Youre the first unbiased trainer I've heard. Every other trainer I've listened to either in person or on the net has had something negative to say bout p90. I think it's because it takes away thee potential client. Why pay a trainer $1200 for 3-6months when you get something similar for a tenth of the cost

  • I want to gain muscle but not lose weight. Is this good for that?

  • From a P90x participant, there is no such thing as "Muscle Confusion." Your muscles don't have consciousness. There is adaptation response which is why changing the workout every few weeks (or every day if you like) is beneficial to hypertrophy. However, diet is the key factor in transformational changes. It's also the hardest part of any exercise regimen.

  • Dude I do p90x because I see results you show me a better workout.

  • @socotto Show some studies to back it up.

  • "pretty good." Come on. p90x is killer. SO much variety and challenging moves.

  • Muscles always adapt if you dont stress them enough. If you do these workouts your body will adapt and plateau. The way they have you break this cycle is to continue increasing weights, not to do different exercises. Even if you continue to do different exercises your body wont get stronger just because its being "confused" lol. Your body doesnt get confused. If this worked...doing different exercises would make you stronger regardless of weights. A load of BS.

  • @durty1calhoun Lol, Thanks for backing me up.... i love the plug at the end of the comment :)
