big Orcas surface close up to kayak ~ Johnstone Strait~

paddling with the northern resident Orca whales in Jonstone Strait, BC, Canada- this big bull kept coming up to us in our double sea kayak, getting more playful each time... ~August 2008~

I wish I was able to get out in a kayak when I was living out.
Our friends that took us out in the strait were pretty tight about the 100ft/yd(or whatever the length is) rule. So all the photos and videos I have are lame.
