DOCBRAUN2015 World Event to end them all with no peer WOW!!!!!! There are parades and then there is THE parade and this parade has no peer being the world's largest night time parade in history and you can imagine my reaction when I got the call saying my audition had been successful!! The theme of the parade was "HISTORY OF THE WORLD" so that immediately caught my attention as logically to a time travelling mad scientist I could see the obvious of how a time machine would fit into such a parade. Landing the time vehicle there was another story as my side wheel ion drive engine got clogged up with pink confetti (how that got there is still a mystery :) and I nearly made an emergency landing on the Sydney Opera House during rehearsals :) I very much so call Sydney my second home having spent some critical changes there way back in 1986 which changed my future history forever. Sydney is the largest city in Australia and this parade attracts extreme volumes of people from all over the planet for probably the biggest party on Earth afterwards. I'll never forget the massive welcome I got when I arrived and the look on people's faces driving around Sydney in a pinked up Delorean time machine - now that's gotta be another world first I've chalked up surely! The people were natively SO FRIENDLY it was literally like stepping ahead 70 years when most of the world systems had been totally stripped down and all barriers removed. I lost count of how many hugs of support, thumbs up, back pats and just out and out hysteria when people saw the car and came over to introduce themselves for a photo as I think I had half the city Police force there at one point - it was just absolutely incredible and boy was I surprised as I was just trying to blend in (you know me! :) The whole world was there in a sea of beaming faces and the world press treated us like pop stars and I lost count of how many interviews I did with people who hopped in the car with me for a ride/interview as drove along. I often wonder just where the tons of freelance photographs and videos of the car end up as I'm forever having friends sending me pics off the internet all over the place. It seems I've really tickled the press with my charity and humanitarian work and they all want a peice of it. I'm just over the moon that I can get to share my passion for the movie with the world and to promote it as a thankyou for the studios for making it and me and half the planet so happy. Wherever I go with the car it's an instant hit guaranteed with a frenzy of cameras and excited people with their eyes popping out and they tell you that you've just made them the happiest person on Earth with a photo in the car! At one point they joked on air that I looked like Merv Hughes the famous Aussie cricket player which is funny because in real life when I put on a bit of weight and wear my cricket gear I do get stopped and asked for autographs (OK they're probably half blind but it does happen :) Merv is a legend Down Under and growing up playing cricket I always admired him so who would have thought 30 years later I'd be his stunt double in a Delorean time machine at Mardi Gras?? (funny how the future changes things! :) There were so many celebs there and it was great to have their support and interest in what has become the biggest party on Earth! Statistically there were well over 300 000 people in the audience watching our 10 000 parade entrants in a colourful display of humanity broadcast locally to some 1.2 million home viewers and then to off around the globe with enough glitter and sequins to block out the Hubble telescope :) My greatest thrill was talking to my much loved mother only a short time before on the phone and telling her to watch the TV for a surprise and then landing a live interview on the big screen right in her lounge - can you imagine how good that felt! I hope you enjoy my video and I hope I bring a sense of fun and excitement and that you can experience the same shudder of electricity being on the world stage as we make HISTORY!!! Cheers, Doc Braun :)
