I like that movie very much! Vielen Dank!

@yorkshiretractors Not so good keeping money that should have fed and housed miners and their families, you are right... but the music was true and the script was true and though the messenger may have been flawed in your eyes, it was a powerful message. He and everyone in the film-- especially with the music from The Grimethorpe Colliery Band-- showed people like me, worlds away from Yorkshire, what you and your fellow miners have been through. I think there must be good in that.

@chloaei No he ripped us off he got a grant of £30 millon pounds to help the miners and he kept the lot to make crap like this taking the piss out of the working class and the pit lads . he is hated here in yorkshire cos of his ties with the new labour goverment and our PM at the time tony tosser . and he was in the green party . and how the hell you can play a miner the tell folk not to burn coal i will never know .

@yorkshiretractors Well, that very great actor, I assume you mean Pete Postlewaite, got this American thinking long and hard about the plight of miners here and in Britian and introduced her to the long and noble tradition of English Brass Bands, like the glorious Grimethorpe Colliery Band, to which she had been completely oblivious. See him as a conduit. He did you proud. Really he did.

Well done on the edit, captured the brilliance of the film and the awesomeness of the tune (I always like aranjuez better in brass). Somehow brassed off seems a bit more poignant now the tories are back in. Round 2 anyone?
