This is one of Tony's most underrated
recordings even though it charted at
#16 in 1956.

  • This hit by Tony Bennett hit #16 on the Top 40 charts and finished at #82 for the year, 1956. On July 9, 1955, Bill Haley and His Comets hit #1 with Rock Around the Clock, signifying the start of the Rock Era. On April 21, 1956, a black haired boy named Elvis Presley from Tupelo, Mississippi hit #1 with Heartbreak Hotel, shooting this new sound into the stratosphere.

  • @mkl62 Yes, The years 1955 and 56 was the time when music started to go to hell (that is if there is such a place). Oh there still some very good music out there but the kids wasn't lisening to it. But the Rock N' Roll of that period sounds kind of good compared to the junk that has been around for the last decade or so.

  • @markalson1938 My favorite is late 70's/early 80's. No, I don't care for what's out there now. But I do like Adele's Rolling in the Deep. Now she is old school, IMO. I just wish that people would quit with the fat jokes. I remember how Carnie Wilson and Lulu Roman (Hee Haw) put up with that same nonsense.

  • @mkl62 A joke is only a joke and if it's done good naturly no one should be offended. That's one of the problems today everyone is to thinskined. Now there are thoes who say things and it's not meant to be funny, they should be overlooked has the fools they are.

  • Great to hear the old songs. Can you help me get a song of Tony's on your site that 99% of the world has not heard ? Thank you

  • @denjim8507 Well I might be able to if you tell me what the song is? Now I don't have everything Tony recorded,

If it's after the mid sixties I dought that I have it (but I might) as didn't care much for anything he recorded then.
