Consider this: There are many prescription drugs that contain enzymes that have been proven effective and approved for use as drugs by the Food and Drug Admin¬istration. Are the critics of this theory suggesting that the drug-enzymes are not affected by the acid in the stomach, while the nutritional supplements are destroyed?

While I am aware that there are enzymes that are sensitive to acid and can be denatured in the acid part of the stomach (pyloric section), it is safe to say the vast majority are not. Yes, enzymes survive the gut!
