October 5 - Greg drops us (Aldrine, Ryan, & Aaron) off at LAX. Everyone is sad to leave Greg's beautiful and relaxing Southern Californian house. The Virgin America plane takes us to the East Coast in style. Ryan feels not-so-great and starts his coming down with a sickness.
October 6 - Plane lands at Washington Dulles International Airport. Deach is beyond awesome to pick us up at the crack of the morning in his mommy-mobile. Breakfast at IHOP (not shown) before heading back to Deach's house. Aldrine and Deach talk shop while Ryan naps in the basement. Head to a music shoppe to buy replacement guitar strings for Ryan's guitar. Deach braves vicious East Coast traffic to get us to Baltimore safe and sound.
Meetup at Joe Squared Pizza. Deach orders Red Stripe. Christina rocks some Jordin Sparks on her uke. Tina drives all the way from Jersey just to chill. Aldrine pays for our pizza by blowing the minds of most of Joe's Squared's Tuesday afternoon patrons. Applause all around.
Gig with Victoria Vox at Cyclops Books. Victoria is accompanied by her East Coast cellist who is both skilled at her craft and totally hilarious. The U.K.E. from Paris plays crazy-good Indian music with ukuleles, tablas, and a MacBook. Tripping Lily brings the heat with a sweet blend of vocal prowess and stringstrumentals. We meet more cool UUers from the East and hang out 'til closing time.
October 7 - Deach is beyond awesome to drop us off ... at the crack of the morning ... in his mommy-mobile. We take a plane to New York Cit-ay. After checking into our hotel in Queens and successfully not finding Jackson Hole Restaurant, we meet up with benmealer who shows us how to use the subway and gets us to Pianos in one piece.
Pianos NYC is largely unmarked and batcave dark. The show is hosted by New York uke player, Michael Wagner whose ukulele playing abilities are the single-most amazing thing we witness in New York. No lie. The U.K.E. makes it look easy and Aldrine shreds a little. We meet a bunch of UUers from NYC who are super cool. Ryan's common cold is in full swing.
October 8 - Aldrine and Aaron take Manhattan. Ryan stays in bed as to not frighten the swine-fearing subway riders. A&A visit M&M World, a few music stores, Rockefeller Center, the NBC Experience Store and Nintendo World in Rockefeller Center, and several street vendors.
Tillies of Brooklyn's Open Mic Night is totally crashed by a swarm of East Coast UUers. benmealer, menehunenyc, Jon & Sam, haole, Barbara, Colmes & Brittni, Joe & Supah, Aldrine, and Spooner bring down the house. Plus Yuka (a NY tapdancer originally from Japan) taps something fierce while Aldrine's strumming sets his uke ablaze. The east coast is awesome.
THANKS to everyone on the East Coast that made our trip the best first time ever! We'll be back. Promise.
Aloha,
-UU Staff

Man that looks like fun. Great tune. Saw The K from U.K.E in the background, he played our neck of the woods lately (Cape Cod). Also Tripping Lily. Jammed with bassist Laird Boles a couple times. Cool cats all! Thanks for sharing!
