As for the prisoner-exchange numbers, it had nothing to do with how one values one's own people, but rather with what one can get in the negotiations. If things were reversed, Israel would gladly demand 100 Israelis for releasing one Arab.

oh come ohhn. live in an arab country and see how they treat each other. not excusing israel but at least they don't dehumanize each other and are willing to go to any lengths to save one life. i realize it has to be a jewish life. you don't see the same on the arab side. arabs think very little of themselves that hostage trades usually go 10's or 100's of palestinian hostages in return for one israeli. the world needs to see arabs value life and treat each other civilly to be taken seriously
