Etude N.X -- "Natural selection", Original piano work by Angelo Yuraqnox.

Inspired in the powers of natural selection; evolution & the struggles for existence.

  • Just passing by and listening again to this piece- which I find amazing :)

  • @gonrolgonrol

    Thank you my friend!

I'm glad You think so & truly appreciate it.

  • I,ve just read the info text. To me not harsh, even a "nano-microbit" not. Very energetic, but just in that degree what is necessary to express perfectly the theme. Not harsh: genial. Bartók would love it too very much, I,m sure.

  • @GBWagner1

Great that U think so, thanks - Yes the theme does require those colours.

Anyhow love that kind of intensity!

  • Refreshing!

Is this possible to play for a pianist?

  • @gonrolgonrol

Thank you. Yes - it is pianistic (was born like that), I can play it. I do an arrangement on the last series of triplets that go down to be able to get the next finger position (e.g. 2nd to 3rd measures). To be effective it doesn't need the exact written notes (e.g. mes. 28 hit the bass part of the piano, a cluster around the same as written is good too) but relations are important, I call the written one the basic-canonic form, from which some liberty can be taken.

  • I'd really like to listen it on a real piano! It's very good!

  • @GBWagner1

I'm VERY happy to read this! :D

Again, what a good listener You are! got this fully right. Besides to just play this piece it is a great relief (this one I CAN play, can't play all works). It doesn't even need the "right" notes to be effective, just the gestures and relations. Will try more of this in following piano works! BTW If you liked this kind of work, you may enjoy "Involución" and "Exo-transmutation" ;)

I'll watch the series you mention, interesting. Thank you!

  • Hehey! It,s a deadshot! These dark colours, this heavy weight I like very much! And very good the title, more exactly Your music expresses very well the general and permanent struggle for life, for surviving among species. I appreciate Your freshest prelude too, but I like and feel this piece much better! (Faved:)

When I was making the "Spring of Life" part of my "Water" series I was thinking of evolution too, the emerging of life but from a life admiring, triumphal aspect.

  • @MB7classical

I agree ;) & nice compliment that you faved; I was astonished myself when this work was coming up!

    Cheers.
