Draconian (MEDELLÍN, COLOMBIA) - Persefone

Gothic metal from Colombia...not the same Draconian from Sweden. They did a cover of "Aves Negras" by Kraken. It appears on Kraken's tribute album titled "Tributo Al Titán: 20 Años de Rock Nacional." There have been changes in band members between the Kraken tribute and the current lineup. Draconian (Colombia) was primarily made up of female musicians. Formed in 2001, they listed Nightwish, Paradise Lost, Therion, After Forever, Poison Black, and The Kovenant among their major influences. I was able to find tour information for them through 2003.

The female singer in this track is Adriana García, lead vocalist of the project "Killer Kind." One of Draconian's guitarists, Juan Carlos Henao, is also listed as a founding member of Killer Kind. Sadly, this confirms that Draconian have permanently disbanded. Killer Kind started in 2005 when Adriana Garcia decided to form a group with characteristics of 80's heavy metal.

"DRACONIAN se inicia en el año 2001 en la ciudad de Medellín, con la idea de crear una banda femenina de metal Gótico, para darle así un nuevo aire a una escena saturada de protagonismo masculino en las bandas locales.

Después de varios cambios DRACONIAN completa su line up definitivo, con Elizabeth López en la guitarra, Sandra Gómez Batería, Claudia Carreño en la voz, María Victoria Hurtado Teclado, Juan Carlos Henao Guitarra y Coros y Mauro Valencia Bajo y Coros. A principios del año 2003 se retira Claudia Carreño e ingresa Adriana García en la voz, la cual encaja perfectamente en el estilo lírico que la banda venia buscando.

De sus conciertos podemos destacar: Dolmen Bar Junio de 2002, Rock Symphony Bar Julio 2002, Primera muestra de Arte Gótico en Cali en Agosto de 2002 junto a las agrupaciones Gaias Pendulum y Eternal, Festival Dark Gótico en Manizales septiembre de 2002 junto a Liturgia, Resurrection Live Festival II en Junio de 2003, Anubis Art Festival Cali en agosto de 2003 junto a Ares y Legend Maker y su ultima presentación fue en el Teatro Porfirio Barba Jacob en la ciudad de Medellín el pasado Noviembre del 2003 con la banda Gaias Pendulum."

@DeeHanaTwoSpirits Apologies for taking so long to respond. I've updated the band information in the description. This is Draconian from Colombia, not Sweden. This is the only track I have. The "Aves Negras" cover for the Kraken tribute album is uploaded on youtube by another user. However, their sound is different as it is not Draconian's original content and there has been changes in band members since then.

None of the recordings have this song...I've searched their discography and the song is not on any recording they've made to date. I question that this is Draconian at all. I agree with the other person on the other vid...it doesn't sound like them at all.

Tengo ese tema en un mp3,pero no me explico en ke disko esta,porke esta la banda draconian en ingles y en ninguno de los cd ke tengo enkuentro ese tema.....Me podrias decir en ke disko esta?????,de donde es la banda??? ya ke hay muchas bandas kon el mismo nombre.AMO ESE TEMA ME LLEVA HACIA EL EXTASIS!!!!!
