Before we begin, I would like to thank the Lord Jesus Christ for my life, and all the gifts which I've been given in it, including the ability to make this extension. Your name be glorified, my Savior, even in something as small as this. Amen.

Ah hah! Phew, just made it. Hello there! Well, here's a little detour to the good ol' days when Nobuo Uematsu still reigned as VGM King, and the era of the Playstation (1st gen) was drawing to a close... come, join me now for a stroll down Memoria's lanes.

Final Fantasy IX, the last FF game for that system, told the tale of a monkey-tailed protagonist named Zidane Tribal, an actor and thief (or is that 'treasure hunter'?) in the world famous Tantalus Theater Company. Believing one doesn't need a reason to help people, Zidane's story begins with a rather unique premise: Tantalus is not only about to perform for the Queen of Alexandria, but use the performance to kidnap her daughter, Princess Garnet! Intrigued? Well, who wouldn't be.

'Feel My Blade' is used to great effect, both dramatic and comic, during the performance of Lord Avon's "I Want To Be Your Canary". With a magnificent opening worthy of FF6's own opera, "Maria and Draco", it proceeds to become an epic battle theme that (to me at least) outshines the actual normal/boss fight tunes heard in the rest of FF9.

Much as I love and respect composers like Iwadare, Shimomura, Mitsuda, Shiono and so many others, let us never forget that without the success of that first Final Fantasy game, J-RPGs might never have gained the critical acclaim and worldwide fame which they now have. Nobuo Uematsu was a part of that, and while I feel his work in recent years has fallen short, I'll always look back fondly on tracks such as this.

Well, I'll let you enjoy this fine melody uninterrupted. Thanks for stoppin' by, and hope you enjoy what you hear.
