This is the extensive restoration of a VW Bus I restored for a friend who was a civilian contractor in Iraq for a year. Part four of four.

  • great job! I would recomend to change the vw emblem for a chromed one. It would look ever more classic! Just a thought.

  • The American flag emblem is what the owner wanted/provided. The bus is 100% stock otherwise.

  • nice bus, the front emblem would be a little emmbarassing though,

im not anti american, but the hippie assciation is irritating enough, its hard enough to be taken seroiusly in a vintage vw, that things begging for the annoying "shaggin wagen" and "hippy van" comments.. . IMO.

nice job in every other aspect, good to see og colors.

  • See my reply to Imfercho above... Thanks for the compliments!

  • Nice job man. Is that Coral Red, that lower paint color? I painted my '66 Westy Velvet Green/ white

  • Thanks! The bottom color is Sealing Wax Red. The top color is Beige Grey. My '66 21 Window is Velvet Green and Pearl white. Probably my favorite color combination.

  • I owned a '65 just like that. I didn't have the time or money to give "Inga" the proper dignity that she deserves for all the great times I enjoyed with her, I just wanted to see her restored by someone who would honor her and not "lower" her etc. I gave her away to a friend and sent her to Hawaii. I believe that God will someday let me see her ,fully restored, again. I wrote a screen play that she plays a main character in. I hope Inga is painted honey-tangerine with a brilliant white top.

  • Have to agree on the kind of creepy nose emblem--better if it were chrome. Also checked my VW color chip chart on the L-53 Sealing Wax Red color. I hope you

shot the photos with a filter, because Sealing Wax should be more scarlet red than the orange tint color in the photos. Otherwise, great resto!

  • OMG i just jizzed :D
