  • my dear Grandpa.. Clayton Howard... went to be with the Lord today, 1/27/2011... Grandma passed away about a year ago... he went peacefully and yesterday said he was anxious to see his dear wife again in Heaven...

  • @TheOahuMike Thanks for letting us know. RIP Howard and Helen. You will live on forever in our memories.

  • As a teen, I listened to the DX Partyline every week, twice a week. I remember writing them a letter, and I heard it read on the air...I was so excited! LOL! Ahhhh, the good ol' days!

  • Yes, it sure was fun wasn't it ? Shortwave isn't the same today, sadly. :(

  • I caught this on cassette for posterity and miss the early days of my hobby.

  • Me too. I miss the magic of my early days in shortwave, circa 1968. It was magical.

  • Shortwave listening was indeed magic in the 70s and early 80s. The thought of listening to news events in real time before all cable news channels was truly an experience. 73 everyone! AI4QT
