I countered his punch. Your character will always duck and step behind your opponent if you counter that specific attack.

Cryingzombie is referring to "Takedowns",a lot different than counterattack,but takedowns is more stronger than martial arts counterattack.

Counterattack only stumble you opponent,takedowns instead slam against their flail body to the ground,so battling against with takedown-counter chars is dangerous....

I really don't want to contradict but if I'm correct you're saying, that charakters like Lunatic or Taha that knock enemies down with sucsseful counters are stronger compared to charakters that will just interrupt their attack series???

In my experience it's the other way round.

I, myself, prefer any combination that dosen't produce those shitty counters that floor my opponent. I couldn't decide on just one, so I made different versions of my same fighter with different combinations of my favorite styles. I REALly wish the PLAYSTATION 3 would let the CPU control and train my team partner like in ''Army of Two.'' I'd teach my partner to fight like me instead of getting owned, leaving me to see how long before they beat MY ass...

Well I divided all DJffNY Charakter in two groups. Shit charakters (Any charakters who floor your opponent while countering [This happens when you start with Wrestling , Submission or Martial Arts and add Wrestling, Submission or Martial Arts you charakter almost always gets crappy counters.) and good charakers (Any charakters who doesn't floor your opponent while countering [Start with Kickboxing or Streetfighting and you always get good counter)

My input is probably worthless But however I have found my best characters are. Martial arts streetfighting kickbixing. Martial arts streetfighting wrestling. The last one is Martial arts kickboxing submissions

I prefer Streetfighting, Wrestling, Submission (Ehy) or Streetfighting, Martial Arts, Submission (Stich).

Streetfighting, Martial Arts, Wrestling is my girlfirends favorite.
