  • I actually caught a beauty on Craigslist for $900! Stored in the summer all the time, only 90K miles, same year as yours. I don't think it has a 1.4 in it though, it sounds a LOT "beefier" if that makes sense. I haven't taken the time to look under the hood just yet, but I have it ready to check out & pickup if I like it.

  • @KaiX6 mines a 1.6L all of the capris like mine are 1.6L N/A or 1.6L turbo wich is the XR2, XR2's also come with the factory spoiler and are stanard.

  • @heathmeador Just bought mine today. Found a nice white and black one for $2000 with only 84k miles on it, and a load of options. Haven't gotten around to finding everything yet, but Ill do that this week. Love this car so far, loads of fun to drive. Quick question though...Do the brakes on yours have a big cushion? You have to press down pretty far before the brakes start catching. It's not any danger, just takes getting used to. Is it designed that way or do i just need to get mine checked?

  • @preshead sounds like u either had low pads or air in system. My pedal is real touchy. I work at a midas and we do free brake checks, just take it by some place like that tell them bout the pedal and see if they will look at it for free. But be carefull, if they say the pads are low make sure u go see for yourself before u buy anything. And if there not i would try bleeding the brakes to see if that helps if u can do that yourself.A brake flush is around 80-90 bucks at a shop.

  • @heathmeador alright great, thanks for the tip man. I'll get them checked this weekend. Thanks!

  • i put a evo turbo in my capri..... what up

  • @KaiX6 well if the clutch slips you would think its the trans, mine has 120,000. you thinking bout gettin one?

  • @heathmeador Yeah, kinda forgot we were talking about a manual, searching Craiglist here lol.

Either way, it's an amazing vehicle. How many miles are on the Capri?

  • @KaiX6 standards dont slip, the only thing that would go out on them would be synchronizers, bearings, or a chipped gear. and the clutch if you dont know how to drive. manuals can last forever. we have a truck with 270K and just last year we replaced to clutch for the first time.

  • @heathmeador Jesus, sounds like a serious job. How's the tranny holding up in it? I've heard before that Ford & Mercury are known for slippy transmissions. Well, Dodge is too, but nobody likes to admit those cars were a product of America.
