I have videotaped a lot of sirens for my son, but this one was by far THE LOUDEST....It is located on the SW corner of Hwy 100 and Brooklyn Blvd. in Brooklyn Center (or Brooklyn Park), it does the alert and attack modes. The end has a pretty long wind down.

  • Nice capture of a FS Thunderbeam. I enjoyed this alot. It's been a long time since I heard one. I do know these are very loud. I just wondered did you feel the sonic vibration in your chest. This happened to me when I recorded the Thunderbolt 1000t at dodd and flagstaff aves. in Lakeville last April. Even at a reasonable distance that one made my ears ring for hours. WHAT A SIREN.

  • @dualactionsurgilator YES, I could feel the vibration in my chest, it was bizarre!

  • How did you keep that camera so STILL

  • I'm jealous our closest 1000t thunderbolt was over half a mile out, wish my school was that cool, we had whelen siren next too the playground equipment...

  • @worcester2007 thanks. Sorry I didn't look at the title first. :)

  • @doverpoint1 Minnesota

  • There is a thunderbolt next to my school. Like, 4 yards away. I could feel the vbirations in my chest form it at lunch when it went off lol

  • Thunderbeam RSH-10

  • @JustInn014 I didn't know they made a 500 with an STH-10 chopper in it, but I'll take your word for it. I bet that sucker is loud. It would have been better if they used the STL's chopper for both the Tbeams and the earlier 500's, because they would have gotten more coverage out of them with the lower pitch.

I'm thinking that the true output of a 2001 is about the same as the later 500. I know it isn't as loud as a Tbolt, even though it's rated louder.

  • @LouisvilleTorn8o The earlier 500-SH was just that, a rotating STH chopper. I don't know how loud this was, compared to the RSH-10/Thunderbeam. The 500-ST I recorded last year used a Model 5 chopper, this wasn't too loud compared to other sirens.

  • @JustInn014 They should have just put a rotating horn on it...With that 10 HP motor, they would have probably gotten more output out of it than a 2001.

  • @JustInn014 it's not an RSH-10 it's a thunderbeam
