Hi ~ I have worked in White Shepherd Rescue for 8 years and purebred white shepherds are available for adoption throughout the country(USA) through rescue groups like Echo white shepherds and others. They do not cost thousands of dollars. Please adopt-don't buy--millions of dogs are put to sleep in shelters because no one knows they need homes and they are beautiful, healthy, and purebred alot of the time. Write me/Lisa/Mass

My best friend Zoe died two weeks ago at 11 years old. She was exactly like your dog. With no warning, her spleen ruptured due to undetected cancer. She was puppy- like till the day she died. I am so lost without her. I have never cried so much for so long before. She was my third white german shepherd. She was the silliest and most vocal of the three. Enjoy Sky everyday and give her a big hug from a grieving man in Minnesota.

i dont hav any dog ..but i still LOVE WHITE GERMAN SHEPHERDS/..... THEY ARE THE BEST DOGS....AND I REALLY WANT ONE .... I WISH MY PARENTS ALLOW TO KEEP JUST ONE WHITE SHEPHERD
My family recently had to put our !2 year old German shepherd, Shelby, down. We got a puppy, but my dad still wants a German shepherd. I'm going to try to talk him into adopting a white shepherd on Friday, right after he and my mom come back from their 2nd honeymoon for their 20th anniversary. I;m not sure that you'll know or not, but do you know whether or not they have the same temperament? Also, do they have problems with seizures? Shelby did, early on.

@SFUfan777 I have both a standard & white German Shepherd. Sky (the white one) is female & Issac (the standard) is male. I have noticed temperament differences but both are very people friendly & love other dogs, however, Sky is not as obedient as Issac, but Sky is very easy going & very friendly & sweet. WGS are not known for seizures but sometimes have skin problems. Make sure to do research before buying as breeding plays a big part in both health issues & temperament =)

I have a 3 month old White Shepherd named Bastien, I got him at 5 weeks of age. At the time of getting Bastien, he was 3.6 kilograms in weight, his check up at the vet a few weeks later he weighed 7.6 kilograms. He went to the vet a week ago and weighed 12.7 kilograms, the vet said he is going to be a big boy. One tiny little problem though, when he plays, which is alot, he likes to bite, sometimes he draws blood, will he grow out of that habbit?

@Bijomaru1joker Every puppy will "play bite" and with their little needle like teeth it can be pretty painful. He will grow out of it with some training; but without training, he could go on for years thinking its okay to play bite. The most effective method I've found to deter them from biting my hand is when they bite on your hand, grab their lower jaw in your hand and press down onto their tongue with your thumb until they try to pull away and in a low stern voice tell them "NO" or "BAD"

@LKhattak Puppies in general have sensitive stomachs, just changing their food, or feeding them something they're not used to can send them into a fit of bad gas, diarrhea, and even vomiting. With young dogs, its important to make sure they're eating puppy formula thats designed for their size breed, and probably not much of anything else. If hes getting diarrhea though, i'd suggest feeding him some plain cooked white riced mixed with his regular food, and keep them away from eating sand.
