Josh Wink (US), No.1 DJ in North America -- an international household name.
Persistent and adventurous in style, Josh Wink started as a mobile DJ in 1983. By 1988 -- the year that 'rave' exploded into public conscious - Wink was already a main player on the underground music scene.
His single "Liquid Summer", released in 1994, helped propel him onto the international circuit, and in the same year he formed his own imprint -- OVUM.
In 1995, Josh Wink became one of the first DJ/producers to translate his music from the underground to above and to international success. He consecutively unleashed a string of classics including 'Don't Laugh' and 'Higher State of Consciousness' -- an acid house anthem that topped charts worldwide, set every dancefloor in the world
on fire and are still recognized and played today.
Whilst gaining recognition from leading press including Rolling Stone magazine, Josh Wink released his debut album 'Left Above The Clouds'. His infectious DJ set and his trademark dreadlock overcome wherever he goes to and always creates huge impact.
In the following years, he released three artist albums "Left Above The Clouds",
"Here Hear", "20 To 20" and many other EPs and remixes.
2009 saw the release Wink's forth opus "When a Banana Was Just a Banana" and a flurry of activity ensued. After the release of the album, Wink featured on the cover of nine music magazines worldwide -- including DJ Mag in the UK, Raveline in Germany and more. He also achieved album of the month in Mixmag, made a special Essential Mix for Radio 1 and toured the globe.. Wink also celebrated 15 Years of Ovum with a World Tour -- Taking Ovum and its artists on the road, including the Sonar festival in Barcelona.
As a DJ, Josh Wink extensively traveled the globe -- playing every festival that counts, through to the smallest and underground venues around the globe. "The Best DJ experience is being able to create an audio atmosphere where an audience can absorb from me, while I get absorbed from them."
Taking trends, making trends and breaking trends, Josh Wink's music has always experimented and influenced. The sound of Josh Wink today remains one of a man unafraid to walk the border between stylistic boundaries.
