Ego-free driving in Saudi Arabia

If you need to get somewhere fast without the worries of some egoistic motorist in front of you slamming the brakes, be my guest and come to Saudi Arabia. I urge all North Americans to get rid of their ego(s) and learn how to "really" drive. Come on folks! Oh, we rarely have accidents here! The music in the background is imported here from Toronto, Canada and burned onto dvd, because there is always a cost for great and pleasureful driving: poor local music.

You are not only putting yourself at risk but others around you. That is what pisses people off. If you want to take risks go ahead. Make sure I'm not around or at risk. You are being inconsiderate driving like that.

There is a lot of road rage. But there are also idiot drivers out there that think they are Rally Racers when they are not. And even if they were that does not give them the right to put others in jeopardy.

great video.. unfortunately here its hard for a lot of people to get rid of their ego's on the road but thats just how some people are I suppose. If I see someone coming fast ill move before they get to me or if someone is right on me ill move over. Not really as a courtesy (since they could just go around) but because I understand that sometimes people have to get somewhere in a hurry and it could be an emergency. If they're being reckless, let the cops handle it.

What no "egos"? It certainly looks as if the driver in the left lane indeed have an ego, since he wants to go that fast for no reason. The driver accidents in saudi costs society mill. each year. They top in the world stats.

Unfortunately, that is how it works here. The police here will fine you for doing something like that, and often, people in front of you will hit their brakes to scare you rather than move over. Even if they brake too much and cause you to hit them, you are still "at fault" and have to pay for the damage to their car. I will say however, that it is unnerving for me when someone tailgates and I can't move over due to traffic in the right lane. I don't hit my brakes, though. That's stupid.
