Mickey Mouse Review (Tokyo Disneyland) Preshow

This pre-show is a theme park geek's time capsule. This attraction originally opened in 1971 with Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. It was closed in 1980 and reopened in 1983 at Tokyo Disneyland. They're still using the original Pre-show movie from 1971! (Albeit dubbed into Japanese)
It features the old Walt Disney World logo, old character designs and there is even a segment where Disneyland's castle doubles for Disney World's—probably because they had not yet finished building Cinderella Castle when they made the movie. And the early 70's music is a trip! Enjoy.

I do miss the Mickey Mouse Revue. I never saw it at Tokyo Disneyland, because last time, I said that I didn't want to go to Tokyo Disneyland. But I wish it could be at the Disneylands in California, Paris, and the upcoming one in Shanghai for more characters, more scenes, and more songs. But imagine...What if it was back at Walt Disney World? I don't think so :(

I think the live-action segment was re-filmed for Tokyo Disneyland because Mickey has four-fingered gloves (unlike the five-fingered gloves from the 1970s). Also, the final shot has the different "D" symbol for Tokyo Disneyland, not for WDW. Why they filmed in in California, I don't know.

I loved this attraction at WDW too. The BEST thing Fantasyland ever had as far as I am concerned and was soooo upset when they moved it.

This was one of my favorite attractions when this was ORIGINALLY shown in Walt DisneyWorld. I was VERY upset when they moved it to Tokyo Disneyland. I miss this attraction and only have it on my 8mm movie film and I audiotaped it on my cassette recorder. Too bad I can't understand a thing that they're saying. Now I'll have to dig for my tape and film to enjoy this again.
