That's cool to know! Still though, some places don't allow women. Though the place you mentioned does. That makes me feel better to know some of them do.

Hi Koi,
I was travelling around Japan over the summer. We stayed at a Capsule Hotel in Asakusa called ' Asakusa Riverside'. They had a floor dedicated for women's capsules only. Just wanted to let you know :)

That's cool.
The only problem is that I've learned that a lot of capsel hotels don't allow women though....sucks to be me.
Though I guess it's ok concidering that I really do LIKE to lock my room up before sleeping....

After seeing this vid I think I'll give the capsule hotel a try.
I can't seem to find an answer to this question though:
Was there an outlet int he capsule to plug a charger to charge your camera's batteries. or somewhere int he hotel to plug in a charger?
I've seen a few vids of capsules and don't seem to see a plug in there..
Thanks dud..

Hey man, definitely stay in a capsule. Its great b/c they're so close to all the action. Best to stay the night before early morning travel on the trains as well. As for power outlets I dont remember one being in the capsule itself, but I could be wrong -- this trip was about 3 years ago now. However, there is definitely access to power points in the hotel, most likely at the end of your hall. The Japanese are pretty honest, but good to keep an eye on your battery while it charges.

Cost of living in Tokyo is very high...some of the most expensive place on earth...so budget capsule hotel is logical.

I found the price range of traveling in Japan to vary greatly depending on where you are and what you want to do. From 5 star hotels and michelin rated restaurants to hostels/capsules and sandwiches from the New Days quick mart (which I found to be very delicious). The range of budget options is really limitless when traveling in Japan verses, say, London or France. You can get away with a lot for your money in Asia. However, actually living in Tokyo might be another story.
